The Exorcist (1973): Follows the story of a 12-year-old girl, Regan, who begins to display terrifying behaviors after playing with a Ouija board. Her mother, desperate, turns to a priest who decides to perform an exorcism to free the girl from demonic possession.

Was inspired by a real exorcism of a child in 1949 known as the "Roland Doe Case." The story concerns the demonic possession of a girl and the desperate efforts of a priest to exorcise the demon.

During filming, strange events were reported: unexplained fires on the set, accidents and deaths of some cast members and family members. There were even rumors that the set was cursed, so the director, William Friedkin, went so far as to hire a priest to bless the set and calm fears.

Insidious (2010): This film follows a family who moves to a new house, where their son falls into an unexplained coma. As they try to discover the cause, they realize that they are being stalked by supernatural forces that want to possess the boy.
